Spring Beauty Wishlist

It's no secret that I'm always lusting after something or another, my hunger for beauty is never satisfied!  Rumour has it today is the first day of Spring (er right) so my wishlist is somewhat inspired by that.  Here's a few things I've got my beady wee eye on the moment..

Beautysets - wishlist springClarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter I'm not a fan of gloss as I find it too sticky but I do like some colour and a bit of shine so these sound perfect for me and have received rave reviews.  The only reason I haven't bought one yet is because my nearest Clarins counter don't have them.  I will invest very soon though.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Universel I've been lusting after this for aaaages and just haven't gotten round do it.  I'd like to use this to contour as I've seen it seems to be really popular to use in this way, but I'm still very much a beginner at contouring which is probably why I haven't taken the leap yet.

NARS Highlighter Blush in Albatross Now admittedly I am a complete highlighting novice, I'm obviously doing it wrong because I never notice much of a difference!  Anyhoo this seems to be another blogging favourite and I've read so many great reviews I've had my eye on it for a while.  Oh and for the fun factor I love that it's called Albatross as Fleetwood Mac are one of my fave bands!  Ha!

Bioderma Crealine H2O Micelle Solution I know, I'm an awful beauty blogger for not already having reviewed this, but I haven't even tried it!  Probably something to do with not being able to pop into Boots and pick some up (though hopefully this will change soon).  All though I'm completely loved up with my new cleanser (review coming soon), I can't possibly not give this a go sometime!

Well that's my wee wishlist.. this week.. thanks for reading!

With the imminent closure of Google Reader and the no doubt decline of Google Friend Connect, I've signed up for Bloglovin so you lovely people can follow me there..

Manicure Monday - NOTD

Today's NOTD is actually a bit of a cheat as I didn't do them myself, and they're acrylic, not my own nails!  Anyhoo I think they're gorgeous and I always like to pay a visit to the lovely Julie B who is definitely the best I've been to and everyone I know uses her too so be sure to check out her page as her nails are totally fabulous!

Not much of a story behind these ones, I was actually in the bank last week at the tellers nails were similar and I thought they were gorgeous so that's what I went for.  They're pretty simple, black with a lovely golden glitter on the ring fingers.

In other news I apologise for the lack of updates as my laptop and phone have been away for repair argh!  Normal service will resume shortly.  Thanks for reading =)

Parkas!

I've gone a bit parka mad at the moment and I've been eyeing a few up for a few weeks now.  Most of my coats are black and quite dressy so I've been on the hunt for something a bit more casual but still cosy.  I know we're supposedly coming into Spring but judging by the amount of snow we've had lately I think it will come in handy!

1. New Look £44.99  2. ASOS £85.00  3. Conleys 269euro  4 Amazon  £44.99

I decided to go for the one from New Look seeing as it was reasonably priced and I really wanted a fur trimmed hood, and it was important to me to have toggles at the wait so I can tighten them a wee bit to give me some shape.  I think parkas are quite timeless and go with a lot of different looks so hopefully I'll get lots of wear from this for a long time to come.

Lush Bubblegum

Hi guys, tonight I'm going to do a review of a product from one of my favourite brands - Lush!  The only store we have in Edinburgh now is Princes Street, and since I'm not up there much I tend to buy mostly online now but I really want to take a wee jaunt up to try out their new Spa!  Another thing I love about Lush, which is important to me, is their fight against animal testing.

Anyhoo tonight I'm reviewing their Bubblegum lip scrub.  This also comes in two other flavours, Mint Julip and Popcorn.  The lid of Bubblegum states 'This sugary perfectly pink polisher keeps lips in tip top condition and tasting of candy floss'.  This statement is absolutely true, bubblegum really does taste amazing!!

This little pot contains 25g of sugary goodness, and believe me 25g is more than enough!  I've had this since November and there's barely a dent in it.  It's not the most hygienic but I dip my finger in to get a little product onto my finger and buff the product into my lips, licking away the excess.  It really does taste like bubblegum and leaves your lips sooo soft, the perfect base for applying further product to your lips.  The only downside is its so moreish if you use it too much it can leave your lips sore!

All in all another fantastic product from Lush at a great price and I'll be picking up Popcorn when I make my next order.

Soap & Glory 'Peaches and Clean'

Hi folks, tonight I'm going to do a wee review of Soap and Glory's 'Peaches and Clean'.  I've read many a good review on this and mine is no exception.

S&G describe this as a '4-in-1 wash-off deep cleansing milk' with a 'Special clogged t-zone fomula'.  I think the description of a milk is quite accurate, it is quite runny though not so that it runs off your hand!  Though it's  not thick in consistency like most hot cloth cleansers, for example.

The the front of the bottle lists the following ingredients;

  • Peach extract (with skin smoothing fruit acids).
  • Quillaja Bark (a gentle natural 'soap').
  • Jojoba oil (an emollient skin softner).
  • Deoxtboost™ Technology (to help purify and deep clean).
  • Poreshrink R2™ (for a cleaner, fresher, brighter complexion).
Peaches and Clean, rrp £7

I've always been a big fan of S&G products and I think they've got it spot on with this one.  It has a glorious scent of peaches and it does have a 'clean' smell, as well as a nice consistency making it a pleasure to apply to the face.  I usually use this morning and night with my No.7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush (which I highly recommend, if like me you don't want to splash out on a Clarisonic!), and removes make up really well.  Two pumps is usually more than enough to cover the whole face, though if I'm removing make up I like to cleanse twice, just to make sure all of my make up is removed.  This is also very gentle on the eyes.

Without a doubt this product makes my skin silky soft and clean, definitely leaving a clean feeling on my face.  I struggle with a lot of creamy products as my skin can be quite oily and I don't like the feeling of anything too wet or thick on my face but this product is a pleasure to use and I'm sure over time as helped to improve in perfections on my face.  I don't tend to repurchase products often, and had I not been gifted this as part of the Best of All set over Christmas probably wouldn't have bought it myself, but I probably will repurchase this and for the price recommend you give it a go :)

Topshop 'Maisy' Shoes

Just a quick post to say I desperately need these in my life..

I'm rose gold daft at the moment and I love that detail on the nude shoe, but I think I prefer the black.  What do you think?

Essie - No Place like Chrome

My first ever post!  I'll be surprised if anyone but me ever sees this!  Anyway today I'm reviewing Essie in 'No Place like Chrome'.  Pretty chuffed as I managed to pick it up in the Original Factory Shop for the measly price of £3 instead of the usual £7.

No Place like Chrome
I have to admit, my first Essie colour was 'Fiji', and initially I wasn't impressed as thought it was very opaque and chipped early on, however I have since built up my collection of Essie polishes and absolutely love them.  I pair them with Sally Hansen's 'Double Duty' (a holy grail product for me!), and I get a good few days, at least from it.

This polish is a gorgeous silver, almost holographic.  It's very shiny but catches the light really well and I think would go with most outfits.  I used 2 coats as I always like to, but 1 would have been more than sufficient to be honest, and another bonus is it dried really quickly.

2 coats
I picked up another couple of metallic Essie shades whilst I was there, which I may or may not review soon, but I will definitely be picking up more.

Hope you enjoyed my first post, and should I receive any comments I'll be ecstatic! haha :)
